Youth sports should be more than games; they should be schools of character. Northview Athletics recognizes the need for a balanced approach that develops not only athletic abilities but also essential life skills.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to make Jesus known by training athletes who grow in character, excel in competition, and carry their faith beyond the game, while winning the right way.
Northview Athletics youth sports leagues range from recreational to highly competitive. Constructive coaching helps our players build confidence from game to game, creating healthy goals and finding their skills.
OUR VALUES
Character
The field and court are our classroom and learning lab.
Using the word of God as a textbook, we teach Godly Character to our athletes, coaches, trainers, and parents. Every huddle, challenge, failure, or championship is a new opportunity to learn how to win the right way in life or sport.
Community
The name on the back of the jersey will never be as important as the name on the front.
God gives us gifts, talents, and abilities, but those were never meant to glorify ourselves. We will develop athletes that see their role to serve the team and the community as a mandate from God.
Competition
We build athletes that win on and off the court/field.
Skill development is a priority. Our coaches and trainers will push each athlete to achieve their God given potential in their sport of choice.
We hope that every player on every team can find passion in the sport and move into the next phase of their basketball career.
WHY THE RHINO?
A rhinoceros can weigh up to 5,000 pounds yet can still run as fast as 30-35 mph. However, the rhino also has a limiting characteristic: it has poor eyesight. The rhino must learn to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that when it runs at full speed, it may come across obstacles and difficulty, but it can overcome all of those because it has been given a foundation of truth that it can overcome whatever comes its way.
OUR FACILITY
"THE CRASH"
The Northview Athletics facility on 96th street will be known as "The Crash."
A group of rhinos is known as a crash, so our facility is where the Northview Rhinos come to be formed into a team, athletically trained, and spiritually grounded.
The full name of the facility will be Northview Athletics @ The Crash.
